Team at Irish startup Octostar collaborating on a sovereign AI-native intelligence platform in a modern office environment

Octostar secures €6.1 million Seed extension

Irish startup Octostar has closed a Seed extension round, bringing its total Seed funding to €6.1 million to accelerate the rollout of its sovereign AI-native intelligence platform. The company is targeting enterprises and public-sector organisations that require strict control over data, infrastructure and compliance in an era of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence.

Building a sovereign AI-native intelligence layer

Octostar is developing a secure, end-to-end platform that allows organisations to deploy and manage AI models and knowledge graphs within their own trusted environments. Rather than relying on fully hosted third-party services, the platform enables customers to keep sensitive data, prompts and outputs within sovereign infrastructure, addressing rising concerns over data residency, IP leakage and regulatory exposure.

The startup positions its solution as a strategic intelligence layer that can sit across existing systems, ingesting internal and external data to generate context-aware insights, recommendations and workflows. This is particularly relevant for sectors such as financial services, healthcare, defence and public administration, where governance, auditability and explainability of AI algorithms are critical.

Rising demand in highly regulated industries

The fresh capital will be used to expand engineering, product and go-to-market teams, with a focus on large European customers navigating the new EU AI Act and tightening data protection rules. By offering deployment options across private cloud, on-premises and sovereign cloud providers, Octostar aims to give enterprises granular control over where and how their AI workloads run.

Investors are betting that the next wave of enterprise AI adoption will be driven not only by model performance, but by trust, governance and sovereignty. With this Seed extension, Octostar is positioning itself as a key infrastructure player for organisations that want the benefits of advanced AI without compromising on compliance or control.
