Mycoverse raises €2.4 million to reinvent crop protection
Danish AgTech startup Mycoverse, a developer of biological crop protection solutions based on beneficial fungi, has announced a €2.4 million pre-seed equity round. The fresh capital will support the company’s efforts to bring next-generation, sustainable protection products to farmers seeking alternatives to conventional chemicals.
A fungi-based answer to chemical pesticides
Mycoverse focuses on harnessing naturally occurring fungi to shield crops from diseases and pests. By leveraging advanced microbiology and biotechnology, the company designs biological formulations that can be integrated into existing farming practices while reducing dependence on synthetic pesticides.
These fungi-based solutions are aimed at improving soil health, enhancing plant resilience, and lowering the environmental footprint of modern agriculture. As regulators in Europe and beyond tighten rules on chemical crop protection, demand for effective biological crop protection tools is accelerating.
Funding to scale research and field deployment
The €2.4 million pre-seed equity funding will be used to expand Mycoverse’s research pipeline, optimize its proprietary fungal strains, and run larger-scale field trials with growers. The startup also plans to strengthen partnerships with agricultural distributors and food producers to validate performance across different crops and climates.
The investment underscores growing investor confidence in AgTech and climate-smart agriculture, where biological inputs, precision tools, and data-driven management are seen as key levers for reducing emissions and protecting biodiversity.
Positioning Denmark as a hub for green agriculture
Headquartered in Denmark, Mycoverse is part of a broader Nordic push to develop scalable solutions for sustainable food production. By offering a credible biological alternative to synthetic chemicals, the company aims to help farmers meet tightening EU sustainability targets without sacrificing yield or quality.
With this pre-seed round, Mycoverse is positioned to accelerate commercialization of its fungi-based crop protection portfolio and contribute to a more resilient, low-impact global food system.
