Delphyr secures fresh capital to tackle healthcare admin overload
Amsterdam-based healthtech startup Delphyr has raised €1.75 million to develop and scale its AI-powered platform designed to reduce the mounting administrative burden on doctors, nurses and hospital staff. The funding will support product development, clinical validation and expansion across European healthcare systems struggling with staff shortages and paperwork overload.
AI assistant for clinical documentation
Delphyr focuses on automating time-consuming tasks such as clinical documentation, note-taking and data entry into electronic health records (EHRs). Using advanced natural language processing and machine learning, the platform captures information from consultations, structures it according to clinical standards and integrates it directly into hospital IT systems.
The startup aims to return valuable time to clinicians, who often spend hours each day on administrative tasks instead of patient care. By reducing manual data entry, Delphyr also targets fewer errors in records, more consistent documentation and better support for clinical decision-making.
Addressing a systemic European challenge
Hospitals and clinics across Europe face rising healthcare workloads, ageing populations and chronic staff shortages. Administrative complexity has become a major driver of burnout, with doctors reporting that digital systems frequently add rather than remove friction. Solutions that intelligently automate documentation are increasingly seen as critical infrastructure for modern care delivery.
Delphyr positions its technology as a secure, compliant layer that works with existing hospital software rather than replacing it. The company emphasizes strict adherence to data protection and healthcare privacy regulations, including GDPR, to ensure that patient information is processed safely and transparently.
Scaling across hospitals and specialties
With the new €1.75 million round, Delphyr plans to expand pilot projects with hospitals, refine its AI algorithms for different specialties and strengthen its engineering and clinical teams. The startup is targeting use cases in general practice, emergency care and specialist clinics, where accurate and rapid documentation is critical to outcomes.
By streamlining administrative workflows, Delphyr aims to help healthcare providers free up clinical capacity, improve staff satisfaction and ultimately enhance the quality and continuity of patient care.
