Wikifarmer digital platform connecting farmers with food businesses

Wikifarmer secures €7.1M to scale AI-powered farm sourcing

Wikifarmer raises €7.1M to modernize farm-to-business sourcing

Athens-based AgTech startup Wikifarmer has secured €7.1 million (approximately $7.7 million) in fresh funding to expand its AI-driven platform that connects food businesses directly with agricultural producers. The round will help the company scale its operations across Europe and further develop its core B2B marketplace technology.

AI-powered marketplace for agricultural sourcing

Wikifarmer operates a digital platform that allows wholesalers, retailers, food processors, and hospitality companies to source products directly from farmers and producer groups. By deploying advanced AI algorithms, the startup optimizes matching between buyer demand and farm supply, helping reduce waste, improve pricing transparency, and shorten the agricultural supply chain.

The platform aggregates data on product quality, availability, and logistics, enabling buyers to secure consistent volumes while giving farmers access to larger and more predictable markets. This model aims to address long-standing inefficiencies in traditional food distribution, where multiple intermediaries often erode producer margins.

Funding to accelerate European expansion

The new capital injection will be used to grow Wikifarmer‘s presence in key European markets, onboard additional producers, and enhance its technology stack. Priorities include improving demand forecasting, dynamic pricing tools, and real-time logistics coordination, all powered by data analytics and machine learning.

The company also plans to invest in quality assurance and traceability features, responding to rising demand from retailers and consumers for verifiable information on origin, sustainability practices, and compliance with food safety standards.

Digital transformation of agriculture

Wikifarmer‘s funding underscores the growing momentum in AgTech, as agriculture faces pressure to become more efficient, resilient, and sustainable. By connecting buyers and producers on a single digital infrastructure, the startup aims to increase farmer incomes, stabilize procurement for food businesses, and support a more transparent European food system.

As competition intensifies in the digital agriculture space, Wikifarmer is positioning itself as a data-driven sourcing partner for the food industry, leveraging AI to bridge the gap between the farm and the commercial kitchen, factory, or retail shelf.
