ViennaUP 2026 returns with health tech in the spotlight

ViennaUP 2026 is set to return to Vienna from 18 to 22 May 2026, this time with a sharpened focus on health tech and life sciences. The multi-day innovation festival, hosted in Austria’s capital, is expected to attract startups, investors, corporates and researchers from across Europe who are working on the future of healthcare.

Life sciences move to the center of the program

This year’s edition places life sciences at the core of its agenda, highlighting advances in digital health, biotech, medtech and data-driven clinical innovation. Organizers aim to turn Vienna into a temporary hub for solutions that tackle pressing challenges such as aging populations, chronic diseases and the modernization of hospital systems.

Sessions and side events are expected to explore topics like AI algorithms for diagnostics, secure health data platforms, remote monitoring tools and next-generation medical devices. By bringing together regulators, practitioners and founders, ViennaUP 2026 seeks to accelerate the path from research lab to real-world deployment.

Startups, investors and ecosystem builders converge in Vienna

The festival traditionally offers pitch stages, curated matchmaking and thematic tracks for early-stage and growth-stage startups. With the renewed emphasis on health tech, participating companies can expect targeted meetings with specialized venture capital funds, corporate innovation teams and public-sector health institutions.

Vienna’s established reputation in research, combined with its growing network of incubators and accelerators, positions the city as a strategic meeting point for founders in healthcare innovation. The 2026 program is also anticipated to feature policy discussions on regulation, data privacy and cross-border collaboration within Europe’s health systems.

A key date on Europe’s innovation calendar

By centering its 2026 edition on health tech and life sciences, ViennaUP is reinforcing its role as a bridge between science, entrepreneurship and investment. For startups building solutions at the intersection of technology and healthcare, 18–22 May 2026 is emerging as a key date on the European innovation calendar.
