Upvest raises €108 million to upgrade Europe’s investing rails
German investment infrastructure provider Upvest has announced a fresh financing round of €108 million (approximately $125 million) aimed at accelerating the modernisation of digital investing across Europe. The Berlin-based fintech builds the underlying investment infrastructure that enables banks, brokers and consumer-facing fintech apps to offer seamless access to stocks, ETFs and other financial products.
Backing a new layer of European investing infrastructure
Upvest operates a regulated, API-first platform that abstracts away the complexity of securities trading, custody and settlement. By providing a single, modular investment API, the company allows partners to integrate features like fractional investing, savings plans and real-time portfolio management without building their own trading stack.
The new capital will be used to deepen product capabilities, expand market coverage and support larger enterprise clients across the European Economic Area. The funding also signals continued investor confidence in fintech infrastructure as more financial institutions seek to modernise legacy systems and launch digital-first investment products.
Focus on scalability, compliance and partner growth
Scaling regulated infrastructure
With demand rising for low-cost, always-on investing, Upvest plans to invest heavily in platform scalability, reliability and regulatory compliance. This includes strengthening its cloud-native architecture, enhancing risk and compliance tooling, and supporting more complex asset classes over time.
Supporting banks and fintech innovators
The company’s infrastructure is designed for both established banks and high-growth fintechs. By outsourcing trading, custody and post-trade processes to Upvest, partners can focus on user experience, product innovation and customer acquisition, while relying on an institutional-grade securities infrastructure layer.
As retail participation in capital markets increases and regulatory pressure on legacy platforms intensifies, the new funding round positions Upvest as a key enabler of Europe’s next generation of digital investing services.
