Tower data engineering team in Berlin collaborating on AI-focused last-mile data platform

Tower secures €5.5M to power last‑mile data engineering for AI

Berlin’s Tower lands €5.5 million to streamline AI data workflows

Berlin-based startup Tower has raised €5.5 million to develop what it calls the “last‑mile” platform for data engineers operating in the rapidly expanding AI ecosystem. The funding will be used to accelerate product development, expand engineering and go‑to‑market teams, and deepen integrations with modern data infrastructure tools.

A “last‑mile” platform for data engineers

Tower is building a collaborative environment designed specifically for data engineering teams that sit between raw data sources and production AI models or analytics applications. While many companies have invested heavily in data lakes, warehouses and ML platforms, the operational “last mile” — where pipelines are orchestrated, monitored and adapted to business needs — remains fragmented and manual.

The platform aims to centralize how engineers design, test and deploy data pipelines, offering version control, observability and workflow automation in a single interface. By reducing friction in this final step, Tower wants to help organizations move from experimentation to reliable, scalable AI‑driven products faster.

Riding the AI and data infrastructure boom

The funding round underscores investor confidence in tools that make AI adoption more practical for enterprises. As companies race to embed machine learning into products and operations, demand is surging for platforms that let teams manage complex data flows without sacrificing quality or governance.

Tower’s approach positions it at the intersection of data engineering, MLOps and modern cloud infrastructure. By focusing on the operational layer where data is prepared, validated and delivered to AI systems, the startup is targeting one of the most acute bottlenecks in the AI value chain.

Global ambitions from a Berlin base

With fresh capital in hand, the Berlin company plans to scale its presence beyond the DACH region, targeting data‑intensive sectors such as fintech, e‑commerce and SaaS. The goal is to become a default platform for teams that need robust, repeatable data workflows to support production‑grade AI applications.

As organizations grapple with growing data complexity, platforms like Tower are emerging as critical infrastructure, promising to turn raw data into reliable fuel for the next generation of intelligent software.
