Soundtrack acquires Ambie and Tunify to dominate B2B music

Soundtrack accelerates consolidation in music-for-business

Sweden-based Soundtrack, a leading music-for-business streaming platform, has acquired UK-based Ambie and Belgium’s Tunify, in a move that underscores rapid consolidation across the global background music and B2B streaming market.

Both Ambie and Tunify specialize in curated background music for commercial venues such as restaurants, hotels, retail stores and workplaces. By bringing these regional players under the Soundtrack umbrella, the company aims to scale its footprint across Europe and strengthen its position as a one-stop solution for licensed, commercially safe music in physical spaces.

Strategic rationale: scale, licensing and data

The acquisitions give Soundtrack immediate access to Ambie’s UK client base and Tunify’s strong presence in Belgium and the wider Benelux region. For brands operating across multiple markets, a unified music licensing and content management platform reduces complexity and legal risk, while simplifying billing and support.

On the product side, Soundtrack is expected to integrate Ambie and Tunify’s local catalogues, curated playlists and sector-specific expertise into its core platform. This will likely enhance its music curation algorithms, improve personalization for different venue types and generate richer data analytics on in-store listening behavior.

Rising demand for branded audio experiences

As retailers and hospitality operators compete for customer attention, demand is growing for tailored audio branding that aligns with brand identity and customer demographics. Platforms like Soundtrack, Ambie and Tunify enable businesses to move beyond generic playlists toward highly curated, legally compliant soundscapes that can influence dwell time, spending and perceived brand value.

The deals highlight a broader shift in the digital music ecosystem, where consumer-focused streaming has matured and specialized B2B services are emerging as a lucrative growth segment. By consolidating regional players, Soundtrack is positioning itself as a dominant European provider in the niche of professional background music.

Further integration details, including product roadmaps and brand migration for existing Ambie and Tunify customers, are expected to be announced as Soundtrack completes the transition and harmonizes its expanded service portfolio.
