Quill raises $6.5M to power a new kind of AI Chief of Staff

Quill, an emerging productivity and AI workspace company, has secured $6.5 million in seed funding and officially launched Quilliam, a sovereign Chief of AI Staff designed for modern professionals. The new funding will be used to scale the product, strengthen its underlying AI infrastructure, and expand go-to-market efforts.

Quilliam: a sovereign AI for serious work

Quilliam is positioned as a trusted AI partner that helps professionals manage complex workflows, from drafting documents and analyzing data to coordinating projects and communications. Unlike generic chatbots, Quilliam is framed as a persistent, context-aware assistant that understands an individual’s work style, priorities, and knowledge base over time.

The company emphasizes the concept of a sovereign AI workspace, where user data, documents, and prompts remain under the control of the professional or organization. This approach is aimed at teams that want the benefits of AI automation and knowledge management without sacrificing privacy or compliance.

Built for modern professionals and teams

According to Quill, Quilliam is built for executives, operators, consultants, and knowledge workers who are overwhelmed by information and repetitive digital tasks. By combining large language models with structured workflows, Quilliam can summarize long threads, prepare briefings, draft responses, and surface relevant knowledge at the moment it is needed.

The seed funding will help the company deepen integrations with existing tools such as email, document editors, and project management platforms, turning Quilliam into a central hub for high-value, AI-assisted work. As professionals increasingly rely on AI copilots and automation, Quill aims to differentiate itself through security, ownership of data, and a focus on long-term, relationship-like interaction between user and AI.

Raising the bar in AI productivity tools

The $6.5 million seed round underscores investor confidence in specialized, trustworthy AI productivity platforms. With Quilliam, Quill enters a competitive but rapidly expanding market, betting that the future of work will be defined by sovereign, deeply personalized AI Chiefs of Staff embedded in everyday professional life.
