Pronto mobile app interface showing maid-on-demand services in India

Pronto hits $100M valuation after $25M round for India maid app

Pronto secures $25M to scale India’s maid-on-demand platform

Indian home-services startup Pronto has raised $25 million in new funding, lifting its valuation to approximately $100 million. The capital injection underscores surging investor interest in tech-enabled domestic services as urban households increasingly turn to apps to manage everyday chores.

A digital marketplace for domestic help

Pronto operates a mobile-first marketplace that connects households with vetted maids and domestic workers for services such as cleaning, cooking, childcare and elderly care. The platform aims to replace informal word-of-mouth hiring with a structured system offering background checks, ratings and reviews, and standardized service contracts.

By digitizing a largely offline sector, Pronto is targeting India’s massive urban middle class, where dual-income families and long working hours are fueling demand for reliable, on-demand domestic help. The startup positions itself as a safer and more transparent alternative to traditional broker networks.

Use of funds: expansion, technology and worker protection

The latest round will be used to deepen Pronto’s presence in major metros and expand into second-tier cities. The company plans to invest heavily in AI-driven matching algorithms to pair households with suitable workers based on skills, location and schedule, while improving route optimization and utilization rates.

Part of the capital will also go toward strengthening worker-facing features, including digital identity verification, standardized training programs, and optional access to health insurance and financial services. By formalizing work conditions, Pronto aims to address long-standing concerns around exploitation, unpaid wages and lack of social security in the domestic work sector.

Competitive landscape and regulatory scrutiny

India’s home-services market has attracted multiple players offering cleaning, repair and beauty services. However, the focus on full-time and part-time maids places Pronto in a niche where regulation of gig work, worker rights and data privacy are increasingly under the spotlight.

As the platform scales, investors and regulators will closely watch how Pronto balances rapid growth with ethical treatment of workers, transparent pricing for households and robust protection of personal data shared through the app.
