OOVIE Studios secures funding for real-time AI cinema
Lugano-based OOVIE Studios has raised €164,000 (CHF 150,000) from Swiss early-stage investor Venture Kick to advance a new form of immersive entertainment it calls Music Interactive Movies. The concept fuses live classical music, audience participation and AI-driven film generation to create movies that evolve in real time.
The fresh capital will support business development and the rollout of the company’s flagship OO App, a platform designed to let users generate cinematic experiences directly from music, without traditional filming or editing workflows.
Turning music into movies with AI
At the core of OOVIE Studios is a proprietary pipeline that listens to musical performance and translates it into dynamic visual storytelling. By analysing tempo, harmony, intensity and structure, the system uses AI algorithms to orchestrate scenes, camera movements and visual styles on the fly.
Audience interaction is built into the format. Viewers can influence narrative direction, pacing or visual mood through digital interfaces, while the underlying machine learning models adapt in real time. The result is that no two screenings of the same musical piece are identical, positioning the format between cinema, live performance and interactive gaming.
OO App aims to democratise AI-powered filmmaking
The upcoming OO App is intended to open this technology to musicians, venues and creators who lack traditional film production resources. Users will be able to upload or stream music, select visual themes and let the system generate a customised movie experience suitable for concert halls, galleries, festivals or home viewing.
CMO Lorenzo Ramon highlighted the strategic role of Venture Kick in shaping the company’s trajectory, noting that the programme’s mentoring has helped refine its vision and business model. The funding comes amid a broader wave of investment into European MusicTech and entertainment startups, underscoring growing investor interest in formats that blend AI, live performance and audience co-creation.
