Nature Robots raises €4M Seed round for modular farm autonomy
Osnabrück-based AgTech startup Nature Robots has secured a €4 million Seed financing round to accelerate the development and commercialization of its modular autonomy software for agricultural machinery and field robots. The fresh capital will help the company scale its technology, grow its team, and expand partnerships with equipment manufacturers and large-scale farms across Europe.
Modular autonomy software for next‑generation agriculture
Nature Robots focuses on providing plug‑and‑play software modules that enable autonomous navigation, perception, and task execution for a wide range of farm machines. Instead of building hardware, the startup develops a flexible software stack that can be integrated into tractors, robotic platforms, and specialized implements.
The system combines advanced computer vision, sensor fusion, and AI algorithms to let machines recognize crops, obstacles, and field boundaries in real time. This modular approach allows manufacturers and farm operators to upgrade existing fleets with autonomous capabilities, reducing the need for entirely new equipment.
Tackling labor shortages and boosting sustainable farming
The investment comes as European agriculture faces mounting pressure from labor shortages, rising input costs, and the need to reduce environmental impact. By automating repetitive tasks such as mechanical weeding, precision spraying, and soil monitoring, Nature Robots aims to improve productivity while lowering reliance on chemical inputs.
Its software enables highly targeted field operations, supporting more precise use of fertilizers and crop protection products. This is aligned with EU goals for more sustainable agriculture and lower carbon emissions from farming activities.
Scaling across OEMs and international markets
The Seed funding will be used to deepen collaborations with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), expand pilot projects with major farms, and further validate the platform in different crops and geographies. Nature Robots plans to strengthen its engineering and field operations teams in Osnabrück while preparing for broader European and international roll‑out.
With agriculture rapidly adopting automation and robotics, the startup positions itself as a key software layer for the next generation of intelligent farm equipment, offering a path to scalable, data‑driven, and more resilient food production.
