Montis VC launches €50M fund for Europe’s industrial future

Polish venture capital firm Montis VC has announced the first close of its debut fund at €50 million, positioning itself as a new specialist investor in Europe’s next generation of industrial and deeptech companies. The fund, which targets a larger final size, will back early-stage startups modernising manufacturing, energy, logistics and other core industrial sectors.

Backing deeptech and industrial innovation

The new fund will focus on seed and Series A rounds, with ticket sizes designed to support European founders building capital‑intensive technologies. Montis VC plans to invest in areas such as advanced materials, automation, robotics, industrial AI and climate tech solutions that can be deployed at scale across factories and supply chains.

By concentrating on the industrial backbone of the European economy, the firm aims to bridge the gap between cutting‑edge research and commercial deployment. The partners at Montis VC argue that Europe’s strong engineering talent, combined with growing pressure to decarbonise and digitise heavy industry, creates a rare window of opportunity for founders.

Central and Eastern Europe as a strategic hub

Headquartered in Poland, Montis VC intends to use Central and Eastern Europe as a launchpad for startups with global ambitions. The fund will primarily invest across the European Union but sees particular potential in industrial clusters in Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic and the Nordic region.

Limited partners in the first close reportedly include regional family offices, successful tech entrepreneurs and institutional investors looking for exposure to Europe’s industrial transformation. The firm highlights a hands‑on approach, offering portfolio companies support with commercialisation, go‑to‑market strategy and partnerships with large industrial corporates.

Strengthening Europe’s industrial competitiveness

With this first close, Montis VC joins a growing group of specialist funds targeting the intersection of deeptech and industrial innovation. As Europe seeks to reinforce its economic resilience, reduce dependencies on external supply chains and meet climate goals, the fund’s strategy aligns closely with broader policy priorities and market demand.
