Montis VC reaches €50 million first close

Warsaw-based venture capital firm Montis VC has announced a €50 million first close for its latest fund, targeting early-stage startups that apply AI to transform the energy and industrial sectors. The new vehicle is positioned to back European founders building technologies that can boost efficiency, cut emissions and modernise legacy infrastructure.

Focus on AI-driven energy and industrial innovation

The new fund will concentrate on companies leveraging AI algorithms, machine learning and advanced data analytics to solve systemic challenges in energy systems and industrial operations. This includes solutions for grid optimisation, predictive maintenance, industrial automation, energy storage and the integration of renewable energy assets.

By focusing on capital-intensive and historically conservative industries, Montis VC aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge software innovation and real-world infrastructure. The firm expects its portfolio companies to deliver both strong financial returns and measurable decarbonisation impact.

Backing European founders from Warsaw

Operating from Warsaw, Montis VC plans to invest primarily across Central and Western Europe, with ticket sizes suited to seed and Series A rounds. The fund is designed to support founders beyond capital, offering access to industrial partners, energy utilities and domain experts who can help validate and scale complex technologies.

The €50 million first close signals strong institutional and private investor confidence in the thesis that AI-driven energy innovation will be a defining theme of the next decade. As European markets accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy, demand is rising for software and hardware that can make grids smarter, factories more efficient and supply chains more resilient.

With this new fund, Montis VC is positioning itself as a specialist investor at the intersection of climate tech, deep tech and industrial digitalisation, aiming to help build the next generation of category-defining energy and industry champions from Europe.
