Grodi secures fresh capital for autonomous robotics

Almería-based startup Grodi, a Spanish company specializing in autonomous robotics and advanced computer vision systems, has closed a new funding round of €2.5 million. The capital will help the company accelerate product development, strengthen its engineering team and expand commercial deployments across Spain and other European markets.

Scaling robotics and computer vision from Almería

Founded in southern Spain, Grodi focuses on building intelligent robotic platforms capable of operating with a high level of autonomy in complex real-world environments. By combining sensor fusion, AI algorithms and proprietary computer vision technology, the company aims to deliver systems that can navigate, detect obstacles and make real-time decisions with minimal human intervention.

The new €2.5 million injection will be directed towards refining the company’s core software stack, enhancing hardware integration and validating its solutions in large-scale pilots with industrial partners. The funding also positions Grodi to compete more aggressively in the fast-growing European market for autonomous systems.

Focus on industrial and field applications

Target sectors and use cases

Grodi is developing robotics platforms that can be adapted for multiple sectors, including logistics automation, industrial inspection and outdoor field operations. Its systems are designed to operate reliably in challenging conditions, where precision, safety and continuous operation are critical.

By leveraging advanced computer vision, the company’s robots can interpret their surroundings with high accuracy, enabling tasks such as object recognition, path planning and automated monitoring. This capability is increasingly sought after by companies looking to offset labor shortages and improve operational efficiency.

Strengthening Spain’s deep-tech ecosystem

The funding round underscores the growing role of southern Spain as a hub for deep-tech innovation. With this latest capital, Grodi plans to hire additional specialists in robotics engineering, machine learning and embedded systems, while building partnerships with research institutions and industrial clients. The company’s progress will be closely watched as European demand for scalable autonomous robotics solutions continues to rise.
