Flox Intelligence raises €2.5 million for wildlife-safe infrastructure

Flox Intelligence, a wildlife intelligence company developing advanced AI systems to prevent human-wildlife conflict, has announced a fresh funding round of €2.5 million. The capital will be used to scale its technology, deepen product development, and expand partnerships with major infrastructure operators across transport, energy, and industrial sectors.

AI-powered protection for wildlife and critical infrastructure

The core mission of Flox Intelligence is to enable infrastructure to coexist safely with wildlife. Its platform combines edge sensors, computer vision, and predictive AI algorithms to detect, classify, and track animals in real time around assets such as railways, highways, wind farms, and airports.

By providing early warnings and automated responses, the system helps operators reduce collisions, power outages, and operational disruptions while protecting vulnerable species. The company’s technology is designed to integrate directly into existing control systems, allowing for automated actions such as dynamic speed limits, targeted lighting, or temporary shutdowns in high-risk zones.

Addressing a growing global challenge

Human-wildlife conflict is a mounting issue worldwide as infrastructure expands into natural habitats. Collisions with animals cost transport and energy operators billions of euros annually, while also contributing to biodiversity loss and public safety risks. Flox Intelligence aims to tackle this challenge by turning infrastructure into an active monitoring network powered by AI-driven wildlife intelligence.

The new funding will support hiring in engineering, data science, and field operations, as well as pilot projects in additional European markets. The company plans to refine species detection models, improve long-range sensing, and build analytics tools that help operators quantify both economic and ecological impact.

By combining real-time monitoring with actionable insights, Flox Intelligence positions itself at the intersection of climate tech, biodiversity protection, and infrastructure safety, aiming to make large-scale human development more compatible with the natural world.
