Researchers and data scientists in a lab using AI software to optimize clinical trial design and patient recruitment

Biorce raises €43.8M Series A to turbocharge AI trials

Biorce secures major Series A to transform clinical trials

Barcelona-based healthtech startup Biorce has closed a €43.8 million Series A funding round to accelerate the global rollout of its AI-driven clinical trials platform. The fresh capital will be used to scale its technology, deepen partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and expand into new international markets.

Using AI algorithms to fix trial inefficiencies

Biorce focuses on one of the costliest and slowest parts of drug development: patient recruitment, trial design and real‑time monitoring. By applying advanced machine learning and predictive analytics to clinical and real‑world data, the company aims to match the right patients to the right studies faster and with higher accuracy.

The platform ingests structured and unstructured data from electronic health records, lab systems and previous trials to generate insights on eligibility criteria, site selection and protocol risk. This helps sponsors reduce drop‑out rates, avoid under‑recruitment and anticipate safety signals earlier in the process.

Scaling across Europe and beyond

The new funding will support hiring across data science, regulatory affairs and commercial teams, as Biorce prepares to work with larger global sponsors. The company is also investing in interoperability and compliance features to meet strict GxP, GDPR and cross‑border data requirements that govern modern clinical research.

Strategic positioning in the digital health ecosystem

With regulators increasingly open to decentralized clinical trials and digital endpoints, Biorce is positioning its platform as an infrastructure layer for hybrid and remote studies. By combining AI‑powered analytics with operational tooling for sponsors and research sites, the startup aims to cut both the cost and duration of late‑stage trials.

The €43.8 million Series A marks one of the more significant recent rounds for a Spanish healthtech company and underscores investor confidence in the use of AI to modernize the global clinical development pipeline.
