Farmer operating a tractor equipped with BBLeap precision spraying technology in a crop field

BBLeap raises €5M to scale ultra-precise crop spraying worldwide

BBLeap lands €5 million to transform crop spraying

Dutch AgTech startup BBLeap has raised €5 million in fresh funding to accelerate the global rollout of its precision spraying technology, aiming to help farmers dramatically reduce chemical use while maintaining crop yields.

The investment will support international expansion, product development and deeper integration of data-driven agriculture tools into existing farm machinery. The round reflects growing investor confidence in precision farming as the sector races to meet stricter environmental rules and rising food demand.

Precision spraying: less chemicals, more control

BBLeap has developed a smart spraying system that can adjust the dose of crop protection products in real time, nozzle by nozzle. Unlike traditional sprayers that apply a uniform rate across an entire field, the company’s technology uses sensor data and digital field maps to vary application based on plant needs and field conditions.

By combining advanced nozzles, embedded electronics and AI-supported control software, the system can respond instantly to changes in speed, wind and crop density. This allows farmers to cut pesticide and fertiliser usage, reduce drift and comply with tightening EU sustainability targets.

Retrofitting existing machinery

A key differentiator for BBLeap is its retrofit approach. Instead of forcing growers to buy entirely new sprayers, the company’s modules can be installed on many existing brands and models. This lowers the barrier to adoption and shortens payback periods for farmers under pressure from both input costs and regulation.

Riding the wave of sustainable AgTech

The new funding will enable BBLeap to scale manufacturing, expand its dealer network and strengthen partnerships with OEMs and digital farm platforms. The company is targeting rapid growth in Europe first, with North and South America identified as key next markets for its precision spraying technology.

As governments push for reduced chemical footprints and more resilient food systems, investors are increasingly backing technologies that deliver measurable environmental and economic impact. BBLeap positions its solution as a practical, immediately deployable step toward more sustainable, high-efficiency farming worldwide.
