Braive Secures SEK 30M to Scale Digital Mental Health in Europe

Braive closes SEK 30M to accelerate European growth

Stockholm- and Oslo-based digital mental health startup Braive has raised SEK 30 million in fresh funding to fuel its expansion across Europe. The company, which develops structured online treatment programs for anxiety, depression and related conditions, plans to use the capital to deepen its product offering and scale partnerships with healthcare providers and insurers.

Founded by clinicians and technologists, Braive combines evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with data-driven digital therapeutics. Its platform delivers guided treatment modules, remote therapist support and progress tracking, aiming to increase access to high-quality care while easing pressure on overstretched public health systems.

Targeting the European mental health treatment gap

Across Europe, demand for mental health support has surged, while the supply of licensed professionals has failed to keep pace. Long waiting lists, fragmented services and rising costs have created a significant treatment gap. Braive positions its platform as a scalable complement to traditional care, enabling clinicians to support more patients with structured, remotely delivered programs.

The new funding will support localization of content for additional European languages, integration with national e-health infrastructures and clinical validation studies in new markets. The startup is already working with hospitals, clinics and occupational health providers in the Nordics and aims to replicate this model in key EU countries.

Focus on clinical robustness and reimbursement

Unlike many consumer-focused wellness apps, Braive emphasizes clinically validated protocols, outcome measurement and compliance with strict health data regulations. This approach is designed to meet the requirements of public payers and private insurers, a critical step toward broad reimbursement and long-term adoption.

With the SEK 30 million round, the company plans to expand its clinical team, invest in AI-driven personalization of treatment journeys and strengthen its analytics capabilities for healthcare partners. As European policymakers push for more digital-first mental health solutions, Braive is positioning itself as a specialist provider ready to scale across the continent.
