Physical AI sensor hardware from FLEXOO designed for use on NASA lunar rover and industrial robotics

FLEXOO Raises €11M to Scale Physical AI Sensors for Space

FLEXOO Secures €11M to Accelerate Physical AI Sensor Platform

FLEXOO, a European deep-tech startup building next‑generation physical AI sensors, has raised €11 million in fresh funding to scale its technology from pilot projects to global deployment. The company’s rugged, ultra‑low‑power sensors are already integrated into NASA’s latest lunar rover platform, underscoring their reliability in some of the harshest environments imaginable.

Physical AI at the Edge

Unlike conventional sensor systems that stream raw data to the cloud, FLEXOO embeds AI algorithms directly into its hardware. This approach, often called edge AI or physical AI, allows devices to process information locally, reducing latency, bandwidth use and energy consumption.

The company’s sensor modules combine advanced MEMS components, on‑chip machine learning and robust packaging designed for extreme temperatures, vacuum, dust and vibration. These capabilities make them suitable for space missions, autonomous robotics, industrial IoT deployments and critical infrastructure monitoring.

Funding to Industrialize and Expand

The €11 million round will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, strengthen R&D and grow commercial teams across Europe and North America. FLEXOO aims to move from bespoke, mission‑specific deployments to a scalable product platform that can serve aerospace primes, robotics manufacturers and large industrial operators.

Key priorities include hardening the firmware stack for long‑duration missions, extending sensor life in corrosive and high‑radiation environments, and building software tools that allow customers to train and update AI models without deep embedded‑systems expertise.

Strategic Role in the New Space and Robotics Economy

The use of FLEXOO technology on a NASA lunar rover gives the startup a powerful reference customer as competition intensifies in the global spaceTech and AI hardware markets. As both public agencies and private companies push deeper into the Moon economy, in‑situ resource utilization and autonomous exploration, demand for resilient, intelligent sensing is expected to grow sharply.

Beyond space, the company is positioning its platform as a foundational layer for next‑generation autonomous systems on Earth, where safety‑critical decisions must be made locally, securely and in real time. The new funding gives FLEXOO the runway to convert its high‑profile missions into a broader commercial footprint.
