360 Capital doubles down on European DeepTech

French venture capital firm 360 Capital has launched its new fund, Poli360 2, securing €85 million to back early-stage European DeepTech startups. The vehicle is designed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge academic research and commercial deployment in sectors such as AI, robotics, space technologies and advanced industrial innovation.

Building on the track record of its first Poli360 fund, 360 Capital aims to position itself as a leading partner for scientists and engineers transforming laboratory breakthroughs into scalable companies. The new fund will typically invest from seed to Series A, with follow-on capacity for the most promising ventures.

Focus on university spin-offs and frontier technologies

Poli360 2 will place a strong emphasis on university spin-offs and research-driven ventures emerging from Europe’s top technical institutes. By combining capital with strategic support, the firm plans to help founders navigate complex issues such as intellectual property, industrialisation and international go-to-market strategies.

The fund targets startups operating at the intersection of hardware and software, where defensible deep intellectual property and long development cycles often deter traditional investors. With a dedicated DeepTech strategy, 360 Capital is betting that patient, technically informed capital can unlock significant value in areas like advanced materials, autonomous systems, next-generation computing and climate technologies.

Strengthening Europe’s DeepTech ecosystem

European policymakers have repeatedly highlighted the need to keep homegrown DeepTech innovation from migrating to larger markets. Funds like Poli360 2 are seen as critical to that ambition, providing not only financing but also access to industrial partners, early customers and international investors.

With €85 million already committed, 360 Capital is expected to continue raising capital and expanding its network of corporate and institutional backers. For founders, the launch of Poli360 2 signals a growing pool of specialised funding dedicated to turning Europe’s research excellence into globally competitive DeepTech companies.
