AirHub secures fresh funding for defence-grade drone software
Dutch startup AirHub has raised €4.4 million to accelerate the development of its mission‑critical drone software, targeting Europe’s fast‑evolving security and defence landscape. The company, based in the Netherlands’ thriving aerospace ecosystem, builds advanced platforms that enable secure planning, execution and monitoring of complex drone operations.
Supporting Europe’s security, defence and public safety
AirHub focuses on software that helps security forces, defence agencies and emergency services deploy drones safely in high‑risk and highly regulated environments. Its tools integrate real‑time airspace data, compliance checks and operational controls so that drones can be used for border surveillance, infrastructure protection, disaster response and tactical reconnaissance.
The new capital will be used to expand product capabilities, strengthen cybersecurity features and scale deployments with European government and institutional clients. By concentrating on mission‑critical software rather than hardware, AirHub positions itself as a neutral technology layer that can work across multiple drone platforms and sensor systems.
Scaling a strategic technology for Europe
European policymakers increasingly view unmanned aerial systems as a strategic capability for both civil protection and defence. Robust command‑and‑control software, secure data handling and compliance with evolving EU drone regulations are now central requirements for any large‑scale deployment.
With this funding round, AirHub plans to grow its engineering and operations teams, deepen integrations with existing defence and public safety systems and enhance interoperability with NATO‑aligned standards. The startup aims to become a key European provider of trusted drone operations software, reducing dependence on non‑European technologies in sensitive security domains.
As governments and critical infrastructure operators adopt drones for surveillance, incident response and intelligence gathering, demand for reliable, secure and regulation‑ready software is expected to rise sharply. AirHub is betting that its focus on compliance, resilience and operational control will make it a cornerstone of Europe’s next generation of aerial security tools.
