Electric Twin secures €12M to expand synthetic audience tech

Electric Twin raises €12 million to scale synthetic audiences

UK-based startup Electric Twin has secured a €12 million funding round to accelerate the rollout of its synthetic audience platform, a technology designed to simulate how real people react to content, products and policy ideas before they go live. The round is backed by a prominent UK government adviser and a former military commander, underscoring growing institutional interest in advanced AI-driven simulation tools.

A new way to test campaigns and ideas

Electric Twin builds detailed, anonymised digital replicas of target audiences using machine learning, behavioural data and demographic modelling. These synthetic audiences allow brands, agencies and public-sector organisations to test messaging, advertising campaigns and policy proposals in a virtual environment, reducing the need for costly and time-consuming live experiments.

The company says its platform can help users forecast engagement, sentiment and behavioural responses with high accuracy, while avoiding direct tracking of identifiable individuals. That pitch is resonating with organisations that need to navigate tightening data privacy rules and the decline of third-party cookies.

Strategic backing from government and defence circles

The participation of a senior UK government adviser and an experienced military commander highlights the potential of synthetic populations far beyond commercial marketing. Public bodies are exploring how simulated societies can support scenario planning, crisis communication and information-resilience strategies without exposing real citizens to experimental messaging.

For defence and security stakeholders, realistic virtual populations can be used to stress-test narratives, understand information flows and anticipate unintended consequences in complex environments. This aligns with a broader shift towards AI-enabled decision support across government and national security.

Plans for product development and global expansion

Electric Twin plans to use the new capital to deepen its core AI models, expand engineering and data science teams, and build integrations with major adtech and martech platforms. The startup is also preparing to enter new markets in Europe and North America, targeting large brands, consultancies and public-sector clients.

As organisations seek safer, more ethical ways to understand and influence audiences, demand for privacy-preserving synthetic data and simulation platforms is expected to grow. With fresh funding and high-level backing, Electric Twin aims to position itself as a key player in this emerging segment of the AI and data analytics ecosystem.
