The deal underscores Microsoft’s ambition to expand its footprint in AI search while giving Perplexity access to massive cloud and compute resources to fuel its rapid growth.

Perplexity, known for its conversational answer engine that blends large language models with real‑time web data, positions itself as a transparent alternative to traditional search.
